SKYGEN

It’s said that dedication speaks louder than words. SKYGEN Chief Marketing Officer Don Polite’s work speaks volumes—and this month he was honored on a national stage. The National Association of Dental Plans (NADP) recognized Don’s ongoing service with the 2025 Evelyn Ireland Volunteer Award at its CONVERGE 2025 national conference. The award recognizes annual volunteer contributions the association needs to accomplish its mission to improve consumer access to affordable, quality dental care through advocacy, research, and the promotion of dental benefits. Don recently began his fourth year of service with NADP’s Communications Workgroup.
“It’s such a pleasure to work with this group of talented dental industry professionals under the stewardship of NADP leaders Renee Chapin and Lauren Oakley, ” said Don. “I’m learning from them every day, and together, we’re developing and sharing thought leadership content that helps NADP be the strong voice of the dental benefits industry.”
In recent years, the Communications Workgroup has guided development of resources for NADP’s advocacy initiatives and amplified the voices of NADP Executive Director Mike Adelberg and the NADP Board Chair through monthly communications.
Under Don’s leadership, a subgroup of the Communications Workgroup developed and launched a successful awareness initiative in 2025 to share the results of NADP analysis of the California Health Benefits Review Program (CHBRP), highlighting how California Assembly Bill (AB) 2028, as analyzed by CHBRP, mandates an 85% dental medical loss ratio to ensure more premium dollars go toward patient care, supporting consumer value and protection. The multi-platform digital marketing campaign met or exceeded goals for generating awareness and targeted engagement with the intended audience as well as for cost efficiency.
A respected leader in marketing communications strategy, Don joined SKYGEN in 2019 as Vice President, Customer Success. In addition to his roles with SKYGEN and NADP, Don is a Board Member with Chicago-based Juice Hoops Foundation, whose mission is to support underserved neurodiverse youth through the power of basketball and community. He also serves as Board President with Silver Spring Neighborhood Center which supports Milwaukee’s northwest community through education, health services and economic empowerment. He recently began his fifth year of service with NADP’s Membership Workgroup. Don received the Evelyn Ireland Volunteer Award in 2022 in recognition for his service on this workgroup.
“What makes NADP so effective is the strength of its community and range of membership,” said Don. “These folks are really leaning in.”
In addition to recognizing both Don Polite and SKYGEN Client Experience Executive Shanna Madden individually for their volunteer service, NADP also honored SKYGEN with its Longevity Award for 20 years of actively partnering with NADP to advance its mission.
