Menomonee Falls, Wis., March 31, 2020 – SKYGEN, a leading dental and vision benefits administration software and service provider, announces today the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) has re-accredited the company for credentialing and re-credentialing until February 2023.

NCQA is an independent, not-for-profit organization dedicated to assessing and reporting on the quality of managed care plans, managed behavioral healthcare organizations, preferred provider organizations, new health plans, physician organizations, credentials verification organizations, disease management programs and other health-related programs.

“We’re extremely pleased to again be accredited by NCQA,” said SKYGEN President, Steve Berryman. “This reassures our clients that we follow best quality practices throughout the credentialing process. It also helps decrease the number of annual audits our clients are required to undergo as the accreditation shows we adhere to the highest level of quality standards NCQA puts into place. We also appreciate the partnership of all the providers that have met the strict credentialing criteria for inclusion in our networks and our clients’ networks, and for treating the members we all serve.”

NCQA Credentialing Accreditation helps improve credentialing and protects consumers by ensuring a consistent, effective and diligent credentialing process. It provides a framework for organizations to implement industry best practices that help them accurately and efficiently credential and re-credential health care professionals. NCQA reviewed SKYGEN’s documents from the last two years pertaining to the company’s quality improvement infrastructure, credentialing committee process, credentialing policies and procedures, as well as a rigorous review of the credentialing files and their security.

SKYGEN powers dental and vision benefits administration with SaaS automation, technologyenabled services, connectivity solutions, and data analytics. In support of its mission to power healthcare connectivity for the digital age, SKYGEN’s web-based credentialing service follows automation trends in healthcare benefits administration, moving away from manual, paper-based transactions to digital, on-demand, web-based options. This lowers administrative costs, and provides greater flexibility and convenience to payers.

With its web-based credentialing system, SKYGEN is able to process a credentialing application in five-to-10 minutes, shortening the overall credentialing process to around 14 days, instead of the four to six weeks seen in paper-based processes. The simplified web-based system gives payers on-demand access to the information they need to build provider networks quickly and efficiently. Plus, the faster credentialing process means providers can see patients sooner, patients have more choices and administrative costs are lower for everyone.
